My typewriter interest started almost the same way. My dad also had a Brother rebrand machine. It was a "Student" typewriter. Beige. Before my typewriter interest was rekindled a few years ago, my parents called and asked if I wanted it - otherwise they would just throw it out. I said yes. Mostly for nostalgic reasons. Today I'm glad I kept it. Although its not a very good machine I cant bear to part with it.
I'm glad you tracked down the original model that started it all. These are very well made, though loud little machines.

ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have it! Even if these machines are "not very good" they are also not very bad and there is a lot to be said for nostalgia!
